Role:
Reporting directly to the Lead Mechanics and to the Construction Manager – Clinker Line, this role is crucial for both the design and implementation phases of the Clinker Line project at the Obourg plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing mechanical engineering aspects related to cement process, material handling, and processing equipment, including the design and operational efficiency of various mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Construction Manager – Clinker Line in overseeing the mechanical engineering aspects of the Clinker Line project, from the initial design phase through to construction, ensuring all structures are up to project specifications, as well as local and international regulations.
• Supervise site supervisors for mechanical works and centralize project updates.
• Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project objectives. Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure material and document compliance.
• Assist in managing the implementation of critical equipments, including new production lines and the upgrading of existing facilities, ensuring they meet operational and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and local authorities, to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
• Take the lead of the clarifications of execution plans.
• Enforce and promote safety standards on-site, ensuring all activities comply with safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with local and international engineering standards and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in mechanical engineering and machinery management, particularly in projects involving mineral extraction, processing, and transportation.
• Strong expertise in the design, operation, and maintenance of cement production machinery and material handling equipment.
• Fluent in French and English, with excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Obourg, Mons area for the duration of the mission.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
